Dedication
We dedicate this charity to the men, women and canine Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters, and First Responders. We are avid supporters of those willing to run towards danger to protect those who run from it. These dedicated individuals do not always get the thanks nor the acknowledgement they deserve – which is a discredit to the people they are and the challenges they face each and every day, both on and off the job. Society owes them a debt of gratitude and this is our way, though small in the grand scheme of things, to say, “Thank You” and help protect you.
This protection could be as minor as a new flashlight, or as vital as a better grade bullet proof vest – from providing a Lifevac unit for all cruisers to help in an emergency choking situation. Cities and Counties are not always able to supply their first responders adequately, and being a Law Enforcement officer or a Fire Fighter is often a thankless job. This is the least we can do.
First Responders are a special breed of people. Sometimes they shy away from getting their “thanks” because this is a calling for them, it’s what they were put on earth for: to serve and protect. They are wired to help others unconditionally, whether it is chaotic or something simple. We should all try to stop and say, “Thank You” anytime you encounter a first responder. It means a lot to them, and if you have an emergency, you will truly be grateful when one shows up to help.
